Many people have concerns about internet privacy. We believe that you, as a visitor to our site, deserve to know how we handle information gathered from our website.

We use client and server side scripting on our website; however, we DO NOT under any circumstances sell or disclose to any third party any information gathered by scripts or devices used in conjunction with www.childsaving.org. All information collected by our website on your behalf is confidential within our organization.

We sincerely appreciate your interest in kids in our community and would not want to jeopardize your trust. The information you share with us will only be used to help us serve you better.

Please look through the information provided below for specific answers to your questions. Thank you for adding Child Saving Institute to your bookmarks/favorites. We look forward to your next visit.

What information do we collect?

At CSI, we only collect information from you that you voluntarily provide when you subscribe to our eNewsletter, make an online donation or pay for events online. For each visitor to the CSI website, our traffic analysis program utilizes your computer’s public WAN IP address, not your email address, name, or any other form of personally identifiable information.

When subscribing to the CSI eNewsletter, making on online donation or registering for an event on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address and/or credit card information. We rely on a secure system offered by Donor Perfect for any financial transactions. CSI doesn’t have access to your personal financial information. And, as always, you may visit our site anonymously at any time.

You may choose to provide personal information via the website. Such personal information is kept strictly confidential and is used for internal purposes only, including providing you with requested services, improving our marketing and promotional efforts, statistically analyzing website usage, improving our content and website offerings and customizing our websites’ content and layout. CSI also uses your information to create aggregate reports; however, these reports do not contain any personally identifiable information. This report is used to improve the CSI website and better tailor it to meet our users’ needs.

The traffic analysis software utilized by CSI does not record any personally identifiable information about your usage of the website. Rather, to improve your user experience, we look at broad trends in user behavior.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

To process transactions

Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product (event tickets) or service (online donation) requested.

To send periodic emails

The email address you provide when you subscribe to the CSI electronic newsletter may be used to send you information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions. You will not receive an eNewsletter unless you expressly provide us with an e-mail address for the purpose of receiving the newsletter. If you wish to discontinue receiving the newsletter, you can follow the opt-out instructions at the bottom of the e-mail.

In addition, your personal information is used in the following ways:

  • User IDs and Passwords. Provides you with access to protected content contained in the CSI Intranet as appropriate to your relationship with CSI.

  • Customer Feedback and Support. Provides a mechanism for requesting information from CSI. Also used to tell us how we can improve our programs, services and site design.

  • Email Correspondence. Used to raise and respond to issues and inquiries of all types. Also used to distribute information about CSI’s programs and services.

As a security measure for ourselves and our users, we utilize certain software programs to monitor traffic to our site and within our network. This software also enables us to identify user activities and malicious incidents. This allows us to provide you with a safe, consistent environment in which to view our website.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information.

Some areas of our website utilize Secure Socket Layers to encrypt your information between the browser and our web server. This type of data protection is used in areas where sensitive information, such as proof-of-identity or financial information, would be transmitted to our servers.

When you make a purchase or a donation with our payment provider, your private information (credit cards, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers. Please refer to the Privacy Policy of Donor Perfect for an explanation of how they handle your personal information.

Do we use cookies?

The basic Child Saving Institute website does not use cookies; however, our website traffic analysis software may choose to establish a session-tracking cookie for the purposes of providing details of how our users utilize the website. If you choose to disable cookies, your web browsing experience will not be compromised.

If you utilize the Child Saving Institute Intranet, or any other password-secured area of our website, a cookie will be issued to your browser to provide page-to-page session tracking information. If you disable cookies, you will not be able to access our Intranet site.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential (for example, our payment gateway provider, Donor Perfect, and our website developer). We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.
