Funds for the COVID-19 Housing Assistance Program are received in whole or in part from:
BHA administers the Federal Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, more commonly known as Section 8. The HUD program allows more families to choose and lease safe, decent, and affordable privately-owned housing in Sarpy County.
The HCV Program provides housing assistance for qualified low-income families in the rental market. Using this program, households are able to to choose and lease privately-owned housing. If their housing choice meets reasonable rent and inspection requirements determined by BHA, program participants pay 30-40% of their monthly adjusted income toward rent and utilities. The housing assistance payment subsidizes the balance of the rent to the property owner.
