housing foundation for sarpy county

  • Bellevue Housing Authority's Family Self Sufficiency program is called "Thrive in Five".

  • Thrive in Five works with families receiving subsidized housing through the Bellevue Housing Authority.  Thrive in Five focuses on assisting mostly single mothers to overcome the barriers to employment, and helping them to become independent of government assistance within five years.  This is accomplished by connecting our clients with community partners, providing one-on-one case management and providing free monthly educational classes.

  • The program focuses on living skills, parenting skills, financial skills, education, and employment preparation.

The monthly educational classes help participants increase their knowledge and skills to achieve self sufficiency and independence.

The classes also allow participants a forum to provide support to each other while receiving the input and validation of community professionals contributing their time and expertise. Family Self Sufficiency Program participants meet five times a year (January, April, July, October & November) on the fourth Tuesday of each month.  Daycare and meal is provided. The remainder of the year the participants take classes with Bellevue Housing Authority partners in the community.
